SPOILERS AHEAD!!!!
What Christopher Nolan has done with the Batman films has revolutionized the character and created a bar to be set by any person that may follow. The crew, workers and actors included put their heart into it.
Catwoman was impressive considering I didn’t expect much from Anne Hathaway. Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman and the usual cast all stood out as being amazing. The inclusion of Joseph Gordon-Levitt was genius, he is already one of my favorite actors and he really shows why he is a great one yet again in this film. The set up for him fits perfectly not only as an actor but an evolution of his character. It sort of changed since I expected for him to be Dick Grayson but Nolan really found a way to tell you oh he is this character without having to give him another 10 minutes to explain. His backstory was great and he really shines. Tom Hardy really did fantastic creating his own character and building him in his own way. I would want to say whether Joker or Bane were better but they each have their own individual qualities that make them great. Heath surpassed expectations with his Joker and Tom really broke through to being his own independent character. Marion Cotillard really delves into her character once it gets rolling and certain hints made me wonder. The Bat was awesome and had more scenes than I expected.
There quite a few scenes that hit me as being the best and also some references. The way Batman tells Gordon how to be a hero towards the end really hits you, Alfred’s explanation of his feeling toward Bruce being Batman was a tearjerker, John Blake ricocheting the bullet and seeing the effect then throwing the gun hinted at me that he doesn’t want to necessarily depend on them because of their effect(even though he does use a shotgun later), and also there is another reference in the film. They mention something about crocodiles in the sewer which just tells you Killer Croc and it made me laugh.
Overall Nolan has given us one of the best trilogies of this generation. Each writer/creator/director has their vision for a character and I am glad we got to see his perspective.
Batman is everlasting.
